As a personal counsellor and executive/life coach, I am here to provide a safe space to help you overcome the various hurdles that life may currently be throwing at you.
I really enjoy my job! Being a counsellor means I can use my enthusiasm to help people adapt and evolve. Change can happen!
I am a qualified and registered counsellor with the BACP, and for over 15 years I have worked with individuals and businesses to help them change, adapt, and grow through personal and professional challenges. I view my clients non-judgmentally and will provide you with the space you need to explore your internal process. It may sound obvious, but no two clients are the same - we are all unique as human beings. My counselling skills and experience enable me to tailor our sessions to ensure we are fully focused on you, and your therapy goals.
I believe that within themselves everybody has the capacity to change - you just have to want to...engaging with a counsellor is an important step in this! My style is down-to-earth, warm, and genuine. I'm aware that counselling can be a daunting experience for many people, even if you have had therapy before. I will work to do all I can to make the experience a positive one for you.
I have experience of working in the following areas, although this list is not exhaustive:
- Anger Management
- Anxiety (personal and workplace)
- Attachment Disorder
- Bereavement and Loss
- Career Issues
- Domestic Violence
- Emotional Abuse
- Low self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Panic Attacks
- Relationship issues
- Separation and Divorce
If you are going through something in your life and you don't see it on this list, why not get in touch and see if I can help?
Why I became a counsellor
I began training as a counsellor following 15 years of experience working with individuals and teams in a behavioural environment.
I have worked with a variety of people during this time, from senior managers and business owners to retired folk and teenagers, from ex-offenders to police officers. I enjoyed the relational depth that came from this work, and I wanted to enhance my skills in order to be able to help people on a more emotional level.
I am delighted to also be able to provide low cost counselling for eligible clients via the Community Interest Company, Wellington Community Counselling. If you feel you would be eligible for this service, please visit their website by clicking here and completing a referral form.
